Smitty,
There's not a lot of work left before I can release a beta. Basically just a couple of days worth. The problem is I'm super busy with work and now that spring is here, all the spring chores need doing. Sorry for the delay.

I can understand that for sure. I have no problem waiting at all for a nice module like this that will really help my site out a lot.

Just thought I'd pop by and say that I think it's looking great and I'm looking forward to seeing this one finished.

So, will funding help this along?
We would like to attempt to integrate this with one of our sites but we need the ability to do the multiple map views in addition to the member map like you have on here.
Or if your time is too limited can we sponge your code so we can try to finish this for our use?
I'm smacking my programmer around telling him I want this so I can start adding data into it.
Thanks, and great work!

Sorry Mystic, just got back from some vacation in the mountains here. I really want to get a version out there for beta testing. We aren't going anywhere this weekend so hopefully I could get something done then.

No worries...okay, always worried, but I understand the whole, "Real Life" thing getting in the way.

Hey Ronin!
Just want to write a few words of encouragement about your DF Maps module. I've been building a DF website to help save the world by reducing global warming and the U.S.'s dependence on foreign oil (http://www.fillup4free.com), and your module will be the keystone to the site.
I am basically providing an online way to connect people who have used vegetable oil (from a deep fryer at a restaurant) with people who have cars that are converted to be able to run on that oil as an additive. Running a car on vegetable oil injection produces way less greenhouse gasses than burning gasoline or diesel, and it is recycling a waste product at the same time. Everyone wins!
Your map module, when it allows me to custome name the pointers, will let me make a map of people with veggie oil. That will help people that can run their cars with veggie oil to connect with them, thereby reducing their storage requirements and helping to develop the greasecar community.
Right now I am running a map through frappr, but it really doesn't allow me to have the control and configurability that I need to develop this into a really useful tool.
So, all that said, is there anything that I can do to help you move the project along? My users have been chomping at the bit to get access to that map, but until I can assign group names to the pointers on the map, the DF maps module won't be able to help us.
We all really appreciate the time and energy that you have put into making this module into a reality, and I want to specifically thank you!
Anything that I can do to help, and anything that you can do to implement namable pointers will be a huge help! The icons that are in the version that i have are: Member, Moderator, Admin, Your Location, and Unknown Member. I'd like to make pointers for different groups of people, like: People With Oil, People with GreaseCars, Restaurants with Oil, etc...
Thanks again!
Kristopher

No problem Kristopher. DF Maps module will do exactly what you are looking for. Functionality is all there, I just need to migrate it to Google's API V2.

Ah, I did not realize he had the multi-map version posted yet.
Now I feel silly...
